There is a private airport just next door where little planes take off often during our school day. We have an outdoor covered classroom built from the skills and the contributions of our staff and families in 2020. We have an outdoor mud kitchen, garden boxes and lots of uneven ground for our kids to navigate outdoors. We run and play and get cold and wet sometimes, just as we should. Our inside classrooms are divided into learning disciplines that encourage exploration of art, building, math, science and language. Our kids explore in sensory tables, imagine in dramatic play areas, make messes in art and explore through science. We fill our shelves and circle times with real world work and experiences that pique the interests of kids. We make connections to their lives outside of school and invite them to share and explore the topics we present in a deep and meaningful way. Our curriculum is organic as teachers allow the needs and interests of children to impact our environment and teaching. Things are always evolving and changing in our curriculum and our classrooms.
